Kegiatan Pendahuluan:


  1. Apersepsi: Sambut siswa dengan salam, perkenalkan diri, dan ingatkan siswa untuk mematikan ponsel mereka.

  2. Motivasi: Tanyakan pada siswa mengapa mereka memilih untuk belajar tentang struktur atom dan sistem periodik unsur. Beri pengantar tentang betapa pentingnya topik tersebut dalam dunia ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi.

  3. Diagnostik: Berikan pretest tentang topik tersebut dan gunakan hasilnya untuk menyesuaikan materi apa yang harus Anda tekankan selama kegiatan inti.

  4. Pemantik: Tampilkan video singkat tentang sejarah perkembangan sistem periodik unsur untuk membangkitkan minat siswa.


Kegiatan Inti:


  1. Berikan definisi sederhana tentang struktur atom, elektron, proton, dan neutron.

  2. Tampilkan model atom menurut para ahli seperti Bohr dan Rutherford.

  3. Diskusikan cara menghitung jumlah proton, elektron, dan neutron dalam suatu unsur.

  4. Berikan definisi tentang isotop dan bagaimana menghitung massa atomnya.

  5. Lanjutkan dengan pembahasan mengenai sistem periodik unsur. Berikan pengantar tentang perkembangan sistem periodik unsur dan alasan di balik pengategorian unsur.

  6. Tampilkan tabel periodik unsur beserta keterangannya seperti simbol unsur, massa atom, dan jumlah proton, elektron, dan neutron.

  7. Berikan penjelasan tentang sifat-sifat unsur, misalnya sifat-sifat logam, non-logam, dan gas mulia.

  8. Diskusikan hubungan antara kelompok dalam tabel periodik dan sifat-sifat unsur yang terkait.

  9. Berikan contoh-contoh unsur dalam tabel periodik dan aplikasinya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

  10. Berikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk membuat model atom dan membuat tabel periodik unsur sederhana.

  • Berikan contoh-contoh nyata tentang sifat-sifat unsur dan hubungannya dengan kelompok dalam tabel periodik.

Kunci Jawaban:

  1. Struktur atom adalah susunan atau keadaan bagian-bagian penyusun atom, yaitu elektron, proton, dan neutron. Elektron berada dalam kulit elektron, proton terkonsentrasi dalam inti atom, dan neutron juga terkonsentrasi dalam inti atom.

  2. Model atom Bohr mengatakan bahwa elektron bergerak mengelilingi inti atom dalam lintasan tetap atau orbit, sementara model atom quantum tidak menetapkan lintasan tetap.

  3. Sistem periodik unsur adalah susunan unsur-unsur dalam bentuk tabel berdasarkan urutan nomor atomnya yang mengikuti pola tertentu. Kelas-kelas unsur dalam sistem periodik antara lain golongan alkali, golongan alkali tanah, golongan peralihan, dan golongan gas mulia.

  4. Sifat logam adalah mengkilap, konduktor panas dan listrik, dan mudah lentur. Sifat non-logam adalah tidak mengkilap, tidak konduktor panas dan listrik, dan mudah rapuh. Sifat metaloid adalah seperti non-logam namun dapat menghantarkan listrik dalam kondisi tertentu.

  5. Nomor atom adalah jumlah proton dalam inti atom, sedangkan nomor massa adalah jumlah proton dan neutron dalam inti atom.

  6. Unsur golongan A disebut juga unsur representatif dan mempunyai elektron terluar dalam kulit elektron (valensi) berjumlah 1, 2, atau 3. Unsur golongan B disebut juga unsur transisi dan mempunyai valensi yang bervariasi dari 1 hingga 8.

  7. Reaksi kimia adalah suatu proses di mana terjadi perubahan susunan partikel-partikel penyusun senyawa kimia akibat interaksi antar partikel tersebut. Contoh reaksi kimia adalah pembakaran bahan bakar, penguraian makanan dalam tubuh, dan proses korosi.

  8. Ikatan kimia adalah interaksi antar atom untuk membentuk molekul atau senyawa. Jenis-jenis ikatan kimia antara lain ikatan ionik, ikatan kovalen, ikatan logam, dan van der Waals.

  9. Sifat kimia unsur logam antara lain mengoksidasi oksigen dan senyawa oksidator, bereaksi dengan asam, dan membentuk basa. Contoh unsur logam adalah natrium, kalium, dan besi. Sifat kimia unsur non-logam antara lain mengoksidasi hidrogen dan non-logam, bereaksi dengan basa, dan membentuk asam. Contoh unsur non-logam adalah karbon, nitrogen, dan oksigen.

  10. Unsur-unsur transisi adalah unsur yang memiliki orbital keempat yang terisi oleh elektron. Sifat-sifatnya antara lain kecenderungan untuk membentuk senyawa kompleks dan mempunyai sifat magnetik. Contoh unsur transisi adalah besi, tembaga, dan seng.
